We are a small independent shop. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not sell personal information. This page sets out what we hold, why, and how to reach us.
Folk and Fauna is an independent apparel studio selling through Etsy. This policy covers the website at www.folkandfauna.com and Folk & Fauna LoomGen, the in-house application we use to run the shop and to manage our own Pinterest and Etsy accounts.
This site is a set of static pages. It:
Our web host keeps standard server logs — the requesting IP address, the page requested, the time and the browser's user-agent string — used to keep the site running and to defend it against abuse. We do not combine those logs with anything else and we do not use them to identify visitors.
Links to our products carry a tag identifying this website as the source of the visit, so we can see in aggregate how many people reached our shop from here. It records where a click came from, not who made it.
Folk & Fauna LoomGen is our own internal application. It connects to our own Pinterest business account through Pinterest's official API, authorised by OAuth. It is a single-account tool for this shop: it has no other users, no sign-up, and no way for anyone else to log into it. We never ask for, and never hold, anyone's Pinterest password or session cookies.
Everything it does with the Pinterest API, and why:

It does not access other people's Pinterest data. We do not request, collect, store or process information about other Pinterest users, their accounts, their boards or their activity. We do not build profiles of anyone, we do not use Pinterest data for advertising or to train models, and we share none of it with anyone.
The credentials authorising this connection, and the statistics it reads, are held on systems we control and are never published on this website. Access is restricted to authorised personnel. The connection can be revoked at any time from Pinterest's own settings, which ends the application's access immediately.
Checkout happens on Etsy, not here. Etsy's own privacy policy and terms govern your order, and we never see your payment details.
To make and send your order, Etsy passes us what fulfilment requires: your name, your delivery address, and what you ordered. We use it for that and nothing else. In particular, we do not add buyers to a mailing list and we do not use your address for marketing of any kind.
Fulfilling an order means sharing the minimum necessary with the companies that make and carry it — our printing partner, our postage provider, and the carrier that delivers the parcel (UPS or USPS). They receive what a parcel needs to reach you, and act on our instructions.
Order records are kept while we need them to fulfil and support the order, and for the period tax and accounting rules require. Delivery addresses are erased on request, including from the shipping documentation that carries a copy of them. Performance statistics about our own content are kept only while they remain useful.
Personal information is held on systems we control, with access restricted to authorised personnel. Connections to Etsy and Pinterest are made through those platforms' official authorised interfaces; we never request or hold anyone's password to another service.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to a use, to receive a copy of your data, or to complain to a data-protection authority. We do not charge for any of this and we will not treat you differently for asking. You can reach us through our Etsy shop. For anything relating to your Etsy order, Etsy holds the same data and their tools apply as well.
This website and our shop are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If this website or our application begins doing more — a mailing list, a contact form, analytics — this page will be updated before that change takes effect, and the date at the top will change with it.
